Family, fun, food, and flag waving. The makings of a great holiday weekend, although I'm certain I would put food first if I was typing. All my cousins gathered in their Red, White, and Blue (thanks Uncle Sheri).

You know the song, if you're happy and you know it, you're face will surely show it? I think I've got it, Pete not so much. I don't know if it was my audience, the singing, or the fact that I had joined him in the bucket, but he was sure happy when the last "hooray" was uttered.

Mothering skills

It's funny how naturally (and how young) the motherly instincts kick in. The love and gentle handling when a Mama bonds with her baby is really special.

Laundry

I love household chores--it may be that I really like to be a helper and not so much the chores, but either way I'm sure Mama appreciates my help. Loading the washer and dryer are so much fun. I even like to take clean clothes waiting to be folded and put them back in the washer for an extra bit of cleaning. Today's task was to load (and start) the dryer. Even though the start button is really on top of the dryer (although I don't think I really know that)I have fun pushing something and the dryer magically turning on.
