Lilypie Third Birthday tickers

Yankee Doodle Dandy

"My country tis of thee" will be sung by many Americans this weekend and while most can sing the first verse from memory, there are other verses too including this one:

Our fathers' God, to thee,
author of liberty, to thee we sing;
long may our land be bright with freedom's holy light;
protect us by thy might, great God, our King.

While my family celebrates the liberty and freedom that so many died to secure for us, they will give extra thanks today. May your flag wave especially high and your land be especially bright as you celebrate our country's birthday and may God continue to bless America.

Standing tall: 8 months old July third

Today I celebrate eight months among you. I have to toot my own horn a bit because I have become good (and quick) at so many things in the last month. I am now a bit of a cranky pants when I can't reach something to pull myself up to stand (my new preferred position). I almost think its intentional when I get placed in the middle of a room, miles away from the closest object that can help me stand.

A little crib video, time to lower the bed yet again!

8 month belly shot

And what would the turning of another month be if Mama didn't take her belly shot. I didn't try any funny stuff this month, but as you can see I take up most of the changing table now.

Summer Daze

Daze, my new verb (Webster: to astonish, surprise, amaze). I stand, sit, and lay in constant astonishment, surprise and wonder about everything. I am surprised (the happy kind) every time I hear the door open. I’m astonished by the love and licks of my dog Pete, but most of all I wonder what great things today will hold.

I’m sitting in the “staging” area (okay, it’s my crib) as I am all dressed and ready to face the day. Mama puts me here for a few brief minutes each morning as she gathers the rest of the things I will need for the day before we head out of my room and house. I can’t wait to be amazed at what today holds for me.
